About Lollipop Family Childcare
Monica Braden brings a passion for education and exploration to her work as a family child care provider. Originally from Mexico, Monica earned her degree from the la Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico as an economic agronomist and taught core classwork in the public school systems. She worked several years in a nonprofit facilitating cooperative development in rural areas and gained an appreciation for diversity and community commitment. She has volunteered for the past five years at her children’s school Arcola Elementary and serves on the Education Committee of the Latin Civic Association Project of Montgomery County. Providing leadership as the ESOL Chair of the MCCPTA she fosters parent involvement among Hispanic families.
With 10 years of experience as a nanny Monica combines her practical knowledge of child development with the passion she brings for community service. She sees her role to protect and care for children in the same loving way as working parents would. She finds Montgomery County and Silver Spring in particular as a special place for a quality home program because of the high standards for education and tremendous diversity.
